Heinz Mechanical Industries, Inc. has thrived since 1983 as a locally-owned company serving Oregon and Southwest Washington. We are third-generation owned and operated and are proud to provide our customers with an extensive knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems.

Heinz Plumbing began over 30 years ago under the guidance of Heinz Bosch. He was born in Schweinfurt, Germany and apprenticed and succeeded in the plumbing and sheet metal trade in Germany. Bosch moved to Portland in 1956 and served as a union member for over 50 years in what is currently Local 290 Plumbers & Steamfitters.
Our project teams are made up of hard-working industry veterans with an average tenure of 15+ years.
The Heinz Mechanical Industries team provides full mechanical construction services. This includes pre-construction and design services. We specialize in healthcare, education K-12, higher education, institutional, commercial, hydroelectric, and government projects.
Sustainable Building Practices

We minimize waste and evaluate operations to ensure they are running as efficiently as possible.
This includes managing systems and procedures specifically designed to minimize the use of hazardous materials, energy and other natural resources in order to minimize the generation of waste and to enable the recycling and repurposing of materials.
We will continually seek opportunities to improve our environmental performance.
We do this by establishing objectives and targets, and measuring progress–this included monitoring energy, water, paper and fuel consumption and vehicle miles traveled.
We promote participation and communicate our commitment to responsible environmental practices.
This is achieved by advocating environmental responsibility among our employees, suppliers, and our customers. We provide the necessary training and support to enable them to implement this policy.
Safety First Policy
At Heinz Mechanical Industries we have always emphasized a Safety First policy prior to implementing any task. We expect our employees to maintain safety on every job and our customers trust us to manage safe projects. Our commitment to safety is shared by all of our employees to maintain a safe and injury-free workplace.
Heinz is continually enhancing its safety and health policies. By following safe work practices, such as those outlined in our company safety program, the risks of injury and illness are minimized or often eliminated.
The foundation of a company’s safety program is the ability of its personnel to recognize, evaluate, and control hazards and risks on the job site. To accomplish this, Heinz’s commitment to safety includes:
- A detailed safety manual with employee training guidelines specified in each program
- Safety manager who has completed the OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety training course
- Daily Pre-Task Safety Planning meetings on all jobsites
- Weekly toolbox safety talks on all jobsites or as required by the general contractor
- Regular jobsite safety inspections
- A 100% drug-free workplace program
